It might be that my products are crap.
It might be that my products are just not yet discovered.
It also might be that it's just to early to know any of that.
But one thing is clear. You can be a Leaderboard champion here on ibuildinpublic and not have products in the top 20...
Or even top 30...
Or even top 60!
My products are in the just-under-60 rank, but I'm #2 on most of the leaderboards.
And THAT'S OK. I'm not griping at all. I'm just pointing out that so many products outrank mine even with my extended visibility.
This is good. This is the system working to promote the best products, by arguably the best builders.
Of course I want my products to success, I want them to rank, I want them to be visible.
But I love that the platform is not favoring me just because I'm "popular" (I'd argue I'm not, but that's not the point, I'm using the generic "popular" in terms of leaderboard ranking), and is instead letting true interest rank and surface them.
What is my point of this post?
YOU have a real chance for your product to succeed here if you post about it even if you're not doing all the "leaderboard climbing" -- and that is pretty exciting.
